John Stockton Almost Turned Down ‘The Last Dance’ Appearance Because Of Michael Jordan
John Stockton was one of the many 1990s NBA stars that had their dreams of being crowned NBA champions destroyed by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
Even today, Stockton seems to still hold a grudge against the six-time NBA champion, and wasn’t too keen about making an appearance on ESPN and Netflix’s joint production ‘The Last Dance’, a documentary about Jordan and the Bulls.
During an appearance on ‘The Dan Patrick Show’, ‘The Last Dance’ director Jason Hehir revealed that Stockton didn’t want anything to do with the documentary, because he did not want to be part of a Michael Jordan puff piece.
“I finally got [Stockton] on the phone after like two years of chasing him,” Hehir said. “[Stockton] said, ‘I don’t want to be a part of a Michael Jordan puff piece.’”
