‘The Jordan Rules’ Writer Sam Smith Says Jordan Was ‘Blatantly Lying’ In ‘The Last Dance’

While Netflix and ESPN’s joint production ‘The Last Dance’, a 10-part documentary about Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls was a huge success, it is now receiving more and more criticism and backlash from former players and insiders.

While Jordan’s former Bulls team members Craig Hodges and Horace Grant have emerged as the main critics of the documentary,  Sam Smith, the author of “The Jordan Rules” also has some major has issues with some of the content.

During an appearance on 95.7 The Game, Smith said Jordan being forced into retirement is a ‘blatant lie’, while saying that there were plenty of ‘made up’ stories in the documentary.

“That was a complete and blatant lie by Michael. There were several things in the documentary that I saw, I would know, that he made up or he lied about. They weren’t major things, but it was like when a TV movie comes on and they say, ‘this is based on a true story.’ That’s what that was. It was based on a true story.”
