Royce White’s Amazing And Profound Response To Charles Barkley’s Thoughts On Season Resumption

Following the murder of African American, George Floyd, by police officers in Minneapolis, global demonstrations have been taken place, with people fighting for equality and against racism.

This Black Lives Matter movement thankfully includes many celebrities and athletes, that use their fame to further raise awareness on the more than important issue. Among these are many current and former NBA players, who took part in demonstrations, and spoke to the public.

One of them is former NBA player, Royce White. Just like Stephen Jackson, White has been one of the most vocal athletes, advocating against police violence towards black people, as well as for various other policy changes related to black liberation.

White now took his disappointment towards the ‘Black Bourgeoisie’ to social media, while mainly focusing on Charles Barkley, who is against players boycotting the resumption of the 2019/20 NBA season. White said that people like Barkley ‘are comfortable, they like being the go between to black struggle during cocktail hours’.

“This guy’s a prime example of a centrist. The Black Bourgeoisie… Out of sight out of mind? I’ve been out of the league for seven years and still was able to help organize a huge grassroots effort in my hometown. If the most influential black faces in America went to the frontlines, things would be different. If we created black banks right here & now, things would be different. If we said we’re going to police ourselves and really stood on that, things would be different. He wants the season to resume so HE can go back into the studio and sit on his ass… running his mouth about a bunch of nothing. And that’s the common amongst the black elite in America. They’re comfortable, they like being the go between to black struggle during cocktail hours. We need to have a conversation about sovereignty, resuming an NBA season won’t accomplish that. There’s enough awareness, I’m sick of that word, mental health needed awareness, racism at the federal level needs ACTION. #LEAD”
