Draymond Green Sends A Message To His Doubters
The Golden State Warriors accomplished extraordinary success over the last six seasons – and a part of it could be accredited to their glue guy, Draymond Green. A defensive beast who has shown the ability to facilitate on offense, Green brought in championship pedigree and proved that he’s a vital piece to a championship team.
But Green’s capability to go much further was put to test this year when the Warriors were faced with adversity. Without Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Green seemed to have some trouble making his impact felt; posting up mediocre numbers while not being able to secure passable wins with D’Angelo Russell.
Despite his down season, Green is confident that he will be back to his old All-Star self that we’ve seen in the years before. In an Instagram story, the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year sent a subtle message to critics who have been doubting him this season.

Catching a lot of flak, the struggling Warriors player gave rise to a new mantra called ‘triple-single’. While the word technically existed long before, it has been particularly used to define Green’s underwhelming level of play this season.
Before the hiatus, Green was averaging 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists per game on 38.9% shooting from the field. The Warriors were the first team to be eliminated from playoff contention this year, but they are looking to bounce back next season with a healthy squad to go along with a potential number 1 pick and newly-added Andrew Wiggins.
