Grant Hill Says Houston Rockets Are A Dangerous Team That Nobody Wants To Play Against In The Playoffs

Even with tremendous production from James Harden and Russell Westbrook, the Houston Rockets have seen a decline in the win column throughout the season – picking up a 40-24 record which sits at sixth seed in the Western Conference.

The Rockets may not be making a lot of noise like the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and some other top teams, but retired NBA player Grant Hill, who made his appearance on NBA TV, still believes that the Rockets are a dangerous team that nobody wants to play against in the playoffs.

“This is a dangerous team [Houston Rockets] that nobody wants to play. Even though they are sixth seed, they’re a team that can go pretty far into the playoffs. But the most important thing as you said, James Harden is in great shape right now. And that’s scary for the rest of the Western Conference.”

James Harden has decided to slim down amidst the NBA hiatus, while Russell Westbrook remained in top shape. Recent preparations of these two superstars have led many NBA fans to think that they may see a better Rockets team going into the resumption of the season.

Harden and Westbrook will be the driving force that will push the Rockets to greater heights and into the playoffs, but it’s worth-noting how the team’s defense using a small-ball approach will translate and help them in the playoffs.

The Rockets ranked second on offense and 15th on defense before the hiatus. While their small-ball has shown decent results, the Rockets still have a lot of things to figure out once they’re matched up against dominant bigs like Anthony Davis and Nikola Jokic in a seven-game series.

Despite not being the heavy favorites, it appears like the Houston Rockets will return as a dark-horse team to win the 2020 NBA championship. Houston’s first game will be against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on July 31st.
