Why The Rest Of The NBA Should Be Scared Of The Boston Celtics, Per Enes Kanter
The Boston Celtics are standing at a 43-21 win-loss record and are the third seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics have a well-rounded lineup and a bunch of talented young players. The four-month suspension also allowed the Celtics to take time to improve and recover.
Celtics center Enes Kanter believes that the hiatus has been an important part of the team’s process. Per John Karalis of MassLive.com, the Celtics center even stated that the Celtics are fully healthy ahead of NBA restart, therefore the rest of the league should be scared.
“They were calling us the ‘hospitalized Celtics’ before this quarantine,” Enes Kanter said after the team’s Sunday practice, referencing the Twitter-born “Hospital Celtics” memes.
“Quarantine time was important to just heal and get healthy,” he said. “But now, man, the NBA should be scared because everybody is healthy now, everybody is 100 percent now, and everybody is going at it.”
Contrary to Kanter’s statement, the Celtics are still missing a leg with less than two weeks left before the resumption of the season. Kemba Walker, who’s been giving the team much needed scoring and playmaking, hasn’t fully recovered.
Injuries to Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward and Walker have affected the team’s ability to reach their ceiling and do more damage earlier in the season. But a healthier Celtics team looks good to go with most of the team finding their shape amidst of the training camp inside the bubble.
The Celtics will have their first bubble game against the first-seeded Milwaukee Bucks on July 31. The two teams have matched up in last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinals which led to a 4-1 Boston defeat.
