Jalen Rose: “Each Time LeBron Has Won A Championship He’s Been On A Super Team”
The other day, I put up following post on my social media channels:
“I absolutely agree that LeBron James should have won one, or two more MVP awards throughout his career.
But this year? Hell no! I don’t even know how we’re talking about this. Giannis Antetokounmpo is as clear of a winner as we’ve had in a long time. I appreciate James and admire how great he still is, but the narrative of him being the deserving winner of this year’s MVP award is just wrong…”
Many people agreed, but those people who didn’t mostly claimed that the Lakers would not be a playoff team without LeBron James, while the Bucks (in the weaker east) would be in the playoffs even without Giannis Antetokounmpo.
These people seem to forget that there’s another Top 10 player playing next to LeBron James in Anthony Davis.
Davis, in his debut season with the Lakers, averages 26.7 points on 51.1% from the field, and 9.4 rebounds per game this season, and should give Antetokounmpo the final edge over LeBron in the MVP voting. This is also what Jalen Rose believes, while taking a subtle shot at James.
“If you think that the Lakers will not be a playoff team without LeBron James; that’s really saying what you feel about Anthony Davis . . . each time LeBron has won a championship he’s been on a super team!”
