Jamal Crawford Sees Penny Hardaway In Caris LeVert, Lauds Him As Future Star
Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Caris LeVert has been slowly turning heads in the NBA, garnering a growing attention from players, media and fans amidst his improving performance this season.
LeVert’s new teammate Jamal Crawford was the latest to give him heap of praises. During an interview with Howard Beck on ‘The Full 48’ podcast, Crawford made an interesting comment, saying he sees a bit of Penny Hardaway in his teammate’s game.
“He’s a little bit of everything, like a Swiss Army Knife. But, he can really really score. He can really pass. He has a great feel for the game. I see him…he has a little bit of Penny Hardaway in his game. I think he has Joe Johnson in his game as well. Those are two players that jump out to me.
He’s bigger than you think he is. He has more size that you think he does. He can do everything on the court. And he’s so humble. He has such humility about him.
He’s always asking questions. He’s always working on his game. He’s always trying to get better. Guys like that are driven. He’ll be a star, no doubt about it,”
Caris LeVert is constantly improving and seems to be on a roll with the Brooklyn Nets this year. He’s currently averaging 17.7 points (career-high), 4.1 rebounds (career-high) and 4.1 assists per game.
LeVert has the ability and all the physical tools to play point guard up to small forward which makes him a different kind of player. The Nets swingman played primarily small forward since his rookie year up to last year and has now transitioned to full-time shooting guard this year. Throughout his career, LeVert has also gotten the opportunity to showcase his playmaking skills from time to time.
The Brooklyn Nets are heading to the season restart and potentially the playoffs without their two stars in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The Nets aren’t expected to make any noise in the East, but fans are excited to see what Jamal Crawford, Caris LeVert and other young players have to offer.
