Dwight Howard Picks The Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers To Make The NBA Finals

Dwight Howard is liking his team’s chances to make the NBA Finals in the season restart in Orlando, Florida. Given his confidence with the Los Angeles Lakers, it turns out that Howard also has their potential Finals opponent already in mind.

During an appearance on a video by BrissyTV on YouTube, Howard made a bold prediction, stating that the Lakers will meet the second-seeded Toronto Raptors in this year’s Finals.

“It’s going to be Toronto and the Lakers in the Finals.”

The Toronto Raptors have been exceeding expectations throughout the season. Despite losing superstar Kawhi Leonard and sharpshooter Danny Green prior to the season, the Raptors seemingly didn’t suffer as much and continued to stay intact, currently sitting on the 46-win mark so far this season.

They are the second best defensive team this year and still have defensive-minded players like Marc Gasol, Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, OG Anunoby and Serge Ibaka who were instrumental pieces to their championship run last season.

The Raptors could only hope history repeats itself this year. Last season, they got the best out of the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers – teams who are coming back this season being more equipped and experienced, potentially giving the Raptors a run for their money come playoff time.

The well-built Raptors team definitely has a shot to make the NBA Finals, let alone the Los Angeles Lakers, so we can’t throw Howard’s prediction off the window that easily. The Lakers-Raptors series would be an interesting series, but we all know what happened to those Raptors teams that LeBron James had to face in the playoffs. Fans better hope it wouldn’t be another series of ‘LeBronTo’.
