Danny Green Speaks Out How Bubble Is Affecting The Lakers: “It’s Kind Of Wearing On Guys And Guys Are Getting Kinda Antsy”
While players are served with proper safety measures, 5-star hotels and other entertainment amenities inside the bubble, they are given little to no access to the outside world, which includes having no physical contact with their families.
According to Lakers shooting guard Danny Green, having to stay away from their families for so long has affected his teammates. During an interview, Green opened up how the unprecedented situation isn’t that easy and has been wearing his teammates as time goes by.
“We’re in our habitat. We have our habits every day so it’s kind of become routine of the daily testing every day, going through practice with them. So we have adjusted in that sense. But for it to be easy… I wouldn’t say that.”
“I think day by day, I think for some guys the longer they are away from their families or their kids, it gets a little tougher,” Danny Green said.
“I see day by day it’s kind of wearing on guys and guys are getting kinda antsy wondering when can they get their families here, who can they bring, how many people. They’re just kind of counting down the days for that to happen”.
The league postponed the season earlier this March after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. After the long hiatus, the NBA was forced to resume the season in an unusual setting due to these unforeseen circumstances.
The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams who struggle to make their presence felt in this season-restart. The Lakers currently have a 3-4 win-loss record inside the bubble, and several of their players have been inconsistent and are still finding their rhythm.
