Shaquille O’Neal Reveals How He Avoided Rookie Hazing 

One of the things that likely will never change in the NBA, is rookies getting pranked by their veteran teammates.

It’s just like a never ending circle. Additionally, rookie hazing is always kind of fun for us fans. While even future stars like Stephen Curry were being hazed as rookies, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal apparently was one of the few rookies who wasn’t.

On Inside the NBA some time ago, Shaq revealed that there was no rookie hazing in his first year in the league, for a very specific reason:

“First day, Scottie Skiles was like ‘get my bag’. I was like ‘I don’t do that. I’m the franchise player.’ I never got hazed.”
