Shaq Wants Luka Doncic Hype To Calm Down: “He’s Great But I’ve Seen That Before”
While the rest of the ‘Inside the NBA on TNT’ team was electrified with Luka Doncic’s historic playoff masterpiece on Sunday, Shaquille O’Neal preferred not to associate himself with the on-going hype, while looking unimpressed with Doncic’s legendary performance.
Charles Barkley suggested that their excitement towards a player’s big night appears to send O’Neal to become infuriated. However, O’Neal clarified that he only wanted them to calm down a bit, afterwards claiming that Doncic’s performance has been done by other All-Stars before.
“I just said calm it down a notch. That’s all I said.” O’Neal in response to Barkley who thought Shaq was mad of their celebration. O’Neal continued, “He’s great but I’ve seen it before.”
“Listen. I’ve seen that before; his name is Stephen Curry. I’ve seen that before; his name is James Harden. I’ve seen it all last week; his name is Damian Lillard. Just calm it down a little bit, that’s all.” O’Neal added.
Doncic was the talk of the town after the Slovenian star dropped a staggering 43 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists, finishing the night with a game-winning three-pointer to tie their first-round series with the Los Angeles Clippers.
