Former NBA Player Believes LeBron James And Draymond Green’s Social Justice Efforts Aren’t Enough, Urges Them To Protest In The Streets
LeBron James and Draymond Green have been huge advocates for social justice, and let their voices be heard by making the most out of their platform, using it to raise awareness for social justice initiatives.
However, former NBA player Royce White, thinks James and Green’s efforts aren’t enough. Appearing on TMZ Sports, White initially called out Green who previously claimed that the NBA should continue the playoffs as it serves as a platform for players to speak for the oppressed.
“He’s mistaken, he’s off the path with that,” White said about Draymond … “This is not about awareness campaigns anymore. Report to the front lines. If you can’t report to the front lines, then send aid.”
White also blasted LeBron James who’s been very active in helping out his communities and pushing for social reform while playing basketball. He urged him to take his advocacy to the streets instead of staying inside the NBA bubble.
“Go to Akron Ohio. March with the people. Stay there until something really changes, and If they choose to be all the way violent, let your body be laying in the street when it’s over.”
