Isiah Thomas Says Kareem Is The GOAT But Claims LeBron James Will Surpass Him When He’s Done
Over the past few years, LeBron James has solidified himself as a top candidate in the best player of all-time conversation. He has accomplished multiple team and individual accolades that strongly back up his argument for the best ever, and James, at age 35 still, isn’t done building up his resume.
Whether or not James could be universally recognized as the ‘best to ever do it’ is yet to be determined. According to Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar still owns that mantra, but he see LeBron surpassing him when it’s all said and done.
Per Sports Illustrated:
“We’ve had players dominate certain areas, but we’ve never seen a player that truly does it all,” Thomas continued. “And he’s done it, without fail, for 17 years. For now, Kareem is the best that’s ever done it. But by the time he’s done, LeBron James will be the best we have ever seen play the game of basketball.”
