Isiah Thomas Says LeBron James Is The Einstein Of Basketball
LeBron James is a freight train on the basketball court, but he’s also a basketball intellectual by the way he sees things before others, makes split second basketball decisions and calls out plays. When one thinks of a basketball genius, the Lakers superstar definitely stands out among the rest of his peers.
This is why James is able to pace himself and win games without exerting his physical prowess and energy on the floor as much. In year 17, he impressively led the league in assists and still playing at an MVP-level at age 35.
Much has been said about LeBron’s unique basketball mind, but Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas has probably the best statement to sum it all up. In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the Pistons legend labeled him the ‘Einstein of Basketball’.
“Kareem, Magic, Bird, Jordan, myself, you can look at our coaches in college and the pros and study the way we learned the game. LeBron James came out of high school. Who was his teacher? LeBron is a genius-type basketball mind, and that’s why I refer to him as the Einstein of basketball,” Thomas explained.
