Klay Thompson Made Dying Fan’s Last Wish Come True
In Game 6 of last year’s NBA Finals, Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. A torn ACL is one of the worst possible injures for a professional basketball player.
Ever since, Thompson has put his full effort towards his rehabilitation and has shielded out every possible distraction.
This is way Thompson wasn’t present in the media, as he rejected almost any media requests in order to focus on getting back on the court.
One request though, the All-Star just couldn’t reject. This past Monday, Klay hopped on a video chat with Deborah Wright, a 62-year old Warriors fan with metastatic breast cancer who only has two to six weeks to live, and talked to her for half an hour.
Wright, who has been a Warriors fans since the 1970s told the Mercury News that Thompson made her feel like they’ve been friends for a long time already:
“He made me feel like we’ve been friends forever. It was just a down-to-earth conversation.”
