Bill Simmons Backs Giannis Joining The Mavericks With Luka Doncic: “Winning Four To Five Titles”
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks had back-to-back dominant years in the regular season, but hey couldn’t seem to replicate that same level of play on the bigger stage, in the playoffs, for some reason.
Because of this, basketball fans are debating whether it’s time for Giannis to call it quits and form a championship team somewhere else.
‘The Greek Freak’ is eligible for a supermax extension from the Milwaukee Bucks this upcoming free agency. Whether he takes it, or drops it is uncertain, but as the clock ticks, a team like the Dallas Mavericks are in the front line waiting for the Bucks superstar.
Recently, prominent sports journalist Bill Simmons made an appearance on ESPN’s Jalen & Jacoby to discuss Giannis’ future. At one point, Simmons suggested that it’s a ‘no-brainer’ decision for Giannis to join forces with Luka Doncic in Dallas.
“If I were him, I’d go (team up with) Luka Doncic. I think Luka is gonna be the next guy. To me it’s a no brainer, I am getting to Dallas. I am hitching my kite to Luka’s right leg.
“I think Giannis is looking at Luka like, ‘if it’s me and him, we’re winning titles. We’re not winning the title, we’re winning four to five titles. I think Luka has the chance to be one of the best six or seven players ever. He’s already the best 21-year old ever. … So if I’m Giannis, I’m going there and waiting.”
