The 2020-21 Season Start Might Come Too Early For A DeMarcus Cousins Comeback
It’s gotten pretty quiet around DeMarcus Cousins lately, to a point one could say that he has become the forgotten NBA superstar.
There also haven’t been many players as unlucky as the four-time All-Star in these past few years.
Cousins has suffered a torn quad, a torn achilies and a torn ACL, all within 20 months. These three injuries are considered among the worst in all of sports.
The latest, the torn ACL, happened in last year’s offseason during a pick up game. Just when Cousins himself said that he was back to being his old self, thanks to the hard training and workouts over the course of this NBA summer.
So it’s Groundhog Day for Boogie, who was waived by the Lakers on February 23, and he’s woking on yet another comeback, and while there’s still some way ahead of him, he has looked pretty sharp in his latest workouts.
But while Cousins is progressing well, he may not be ready for the start of the 2020-21 season, according to his agent, Jeff Schwartz.
Via Slam Magazine:
DeMarcus Cousins continues to recover from the left knee injury that cost him his 2019-20 campaign and may not be ready to play on an opening day roster next month.
There haven’t been any specific setbacks, Cousins’ agent Jeff Schwartz tells SLAM, but the former All-Star is intent on returning at full strength and in a situation that’s going to be a good fit for him.
