Free Agent Anthony Davis When Asked About Lakers: “I Don’t Have A Team”
When the Los Angeles Lakers traded for Anthony Davis in last year’s offseason, they were aware of the risk of Davis possibly leaving again in free agency after only one season.
Then, as expected, Davis declined his player option with the Lakers for $28.7 million, to become a free agent.
While Davis is fully committed to staying with the team, likely signing a max deal in the coming weeks, he used his free agency as an opportunity to joke around, when being interviewed by Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes:
Haynes: “Your team made some news today…”
Davis interrupts: “I don’t, I don’t have a team, Chris…”
Free agent superstar @AntDavis23 joins @YahooSports’ “Posted Up with C. Haynes.” In Part 1, he breaks down Lakers’ acquisition of Dennis Schroder and clarifies his current standing.
“I don’t have a team, Chris.”
