Skip Bayless Thinks Gordon Hayward Is Overrated, Calls Out Michael Jordan For Going After Him
Gordon Hayward has been decimated by multiple injuries that held him back from reaching his full potential. Once lauded as the missing puzzle piece to Boston’s championship aspirations, Hayward then saw a massive stagnation and was limited to a supporting role to Boston’s young core.
But make no mistake, Hayward is still a reliable player who brings in veteran presence and floor spacing. Given his continuous production, it’s no wonder why Hayward was able to draw multiple suitors in this year’s free agency.
Now, Hayward will head to the Charlotte Hornets who just acquired No. 2 overall pick LaMelo Ball. While Michael Jordan and the Hornets see Hayward as a solid pickup, NBA analyst Skip Bayless thinks the Hornets overpaid the 30-year old swingman, while exclaiming that he’s always been an overrated player.
“I’m sorry, but I’ve said Gordon Hayward is overrated since before he was drafted. If you’re paying him partly to be a demographic attraction, that’s your business. But if your object is strictly to win, Michael Jordan, you’re way overpaying Hayward.”
