Dream Team? Gordon Hayward And LaMelo Ball Already Show Off Their Great Shooting Form in Hornets Practice
It’s offical, LaMelo Ball will suit up for the Charlotte Hornets next season.
The 19 year-old was selected with the 3rd overall pick on draft night, as the Hornets and team owner Michael Jordan drafted what they hope can be their franchise point guard.
Since the departure of Kemba Walker, the Hornets have been searching for the next face of the franchise. Given LaMelo’s personality, flare and showtime offensive skillset, it’s likely Ball will elevate the franchise even higher than Walker was able to if he develops correctly.
In Charlotte, Ball will team up with Gordon Hayward, who signed a four-year, $120 million deal with the team, after leaving Boston, becoming only the third player in NBA history to sign two different contracts worth $30+ million a year, next to LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
Ball and Hayward will add to the Hornets’ promising core consisting of Malik Monk, PJ Washington and Miles Bridges, as well as scoring guard Devonte Graham who had a breakout year last season.
The most recent practice video of the two suggests that fans can indeed look forward to this coming season with joy.
