Eric Gordon Compares Christian Wood To Anthony Davis
Christian Wood has been emerging among the ranks of the top power forwards in the NBA today. The promising player averaged 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds on 56.7% shooting from the field with the Detroit Pistons before inking a three-year deal with the Houston Rockets in this year’s free agency.
Eager to prove his worth, Wood made a big impression in his preseason debut with the Rockets. He dropped 27 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block on 10-18 shooting to help the Rockets beat the Spurs to a score of 128-106.
After his dominant showing, Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon heavily praised the 25-year old forward by comparing him to one of the most dominant players today in Anthony Davis.
“He’s similar to like an Anthony Davis kind of because he can shoot and get to the rim,” Eric Gordon said. “He’s still learning and adjusting. He’s still young, and he’s going to have a more prominent role here than he has before at any time in his career.”“It’s going to take a major adjustment,” Gordon continued. “Teams are going to focus on him more. So, we’ve just got to see how he adjusts during the season. But if he plays with a lot of energy, it makes it easier on everybody. Our bigs, they’re going to be a major force in what we do.”
