The Rockets Allowed James Harden To Call For Off Days & Fly To Vegas To Party Between NBA Games
If there’s one thing from ‘The Last Dance’ to highlight Dennis Rodman’s complex and unpredictable personality, it would be the time when he decided to take some time off from basketball to have a vacation in Las Vegas in the middle of the NBA Finals.
This wasn’t a one time thing, as Rodman, after leaving the Chicago Bulls to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers before the 1998-99 NBA season, in fact also decided to take some time off and had a vacation in Las Vegas.
James Harden, who wants to get traded, and missed his practice start with the Houston Rockets, due to COVID-19 protocols after attending the birthday party of Lil Baby and hanging around in various Vegas and Atlanta Strip Clubs, apparently is the modern day Dennis Rodman.
A report from ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reveals that he not only got his own private jet to go party between NBA games, it also was accepted by the Rockets:
“If the Rockets had two or three days between games, it was a good bet Harden would call for an off day and charter a private jet to party in Las Vegas or another city,” MacMahon wrote. “He always gets an excused absence from the first practice after the All-Star break for the same reason.”
“If they have multiple days off, everybody knows: James is going to fly somewhere else and party,” a member of last season’s coaching staff said. “But he’s going to come back and have a 50-point triple-double, so they’re OK with it.”
