Scottie Pippen Says Ben Wallace Should Definitely Be In The Hall Of Fame

Former Detroit Pistons big man Ben Wallace may not have had gaudy offensive numbers, but he sure was a defensive menace that constantly forced the opposing teams to make adjustments on offense. However, despite displaying an impeccable resume which is established on defense, Wallace is yet to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

As an undersized center, Wallace was named the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year 4-times, and became a member of five All-Defensive First Teams and an All-Defensive Second Team over the course of his career.

Wallace never averaged over 10 points per game in his career, yet he was good enough to be named an All-Star for four times, and even was a member of five All-NBA Teams. Not to mention that Wallace was the defensive anchor of the 2004 Detroit Pistons that dismantled the Los Angeles Lakers, who were led by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, in the NBA Finals.

Year after year, Wallace’s name pops out in discussions about the Hall of Fame. Fans alongside different NBA analysts and NBA players are making their case for the former Pistons big man to be inducted into the Hall of Fame each year, with Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen being the most recent personality to lobby Wallace as a deserving Hall of Famer.

“It’s obvious, four times this guy was Defensive Player of the Year, that says a lot. He’s an NBA champion and an All-Star. He was one of those guys when you talk about putting on a hard hat and going to work, you speak of a guy like Ben Wallace. He’s definitely deserving to be in the Hall of Fame.”
