Marc Gasol’s Heartfelt Message After First Career Game In Memphis As The Opponent
This past offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired the talents of veteran center, Marc Gasol.
The former DPOY played his entire NBA career with the Memphis Grizzlies, before being traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2019, where he won the championship.
But since Gasol never played in Memphis with the Raptors, last night was the first time he suited up in FedEx Forum as an opposing player.
The Grizzlies welcomed their best player of the past decade with a great tribute.
After the game, Gasol reflected a bit and said he was thankful for the Grizzlies, while admitting it was a little awkward being in the visitor’s locker room.
“Obviously I’m very thankful for the franchise has for me not just now for the recognition but throughout the years that I was here…
It a little awkward being on the different locker room, warming up on the opposite side, all that kind of stuff. Once the ball goes up, it’s game time. It’s completely different. I wish I just hit one of those threes. That would’ve made it much, much better.”
