Vanessa Bryant Urges Media To Not Show Footage Of Helicopter Crash During Tributes For Kobe & Gigi

We are nearing the anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s tragic death. Bryant and his daughter Gianna were among the nine people on board the helicopter that crashed and left no survivors in Calabasas, California on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

With Kobe now being gone for almost a whole year, the media, fans, and players alike are publishing and posting tributes, highlights and interviews, or are sharing their personal Kobe stories, to keep his legacy alive.

Kobe’s wife Vanessa is asking media outlets to not show footage of the helicopter accident, urging them to remember their memories in a respectful way.

“I want to thank everyone that has handled their media coverage respectfully. To everyone else, please reconsider your ‘news story’ and look at your footage through the eyes of their children, parents, spouse, siblings, and family. Celebrate their lives, not the day they lost them.”
