Buddy Hield Defends Marvin Bagley III: “Leave That Man Alone”

Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley III repeatedly finds himself as the center of criticism. Often being compared to Luka Doncic, who was drafted after him, the outside noise surrounding Bagley couldn’t get any worse.

The 21-year old Kings center is still able to produce for his team and show flashes of his promising potential, following experiencing a setback due to an injury last season. However, there are still a ton of fans and critics who tend to get impatient with Bagley’s development.

Now, Buddy Hield, who seems too familiar with Bagley’s situation, came to defense of his current teammate and didn’t hesitate to sound off on Bagley’s critics in a post-game interview on Wednesday.

Per NBC Sports:

“Y’all need to get off of Marvin’s back, leave that man alone, he’s 21 years old,” Hield said about his Kings teammate, per James Ham of NBC Sports.

“He’s just trying to prove himself to the world that he belongs in this league and it’s going to take time,” Hield added. “He has to get himself situated first and once he gets situated and once he gets more games under his belt, he gets more comfortable, then it’s night and day for him.”
