Eric Bledsoe Compares Zion Williamson To Giannis Antetokounmpo
Zion Williamson has been on tear with the New Orleans Pelicans so far this season. The former #1 overall pick is averaging 23.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game on 59.4% shooting from the field over his last 19 games.
On top of that, his play around the basket has been nothing but elite. Zion attempted 204 shots at the rim this season and connected on an astounding 67% percent of them. Always been known to have an exceptional athletic ability, his dominance in that department might not be much of a surprise.
Zion’s efforts have been astounding, but it’s nothing new for his current teammate Eric Bledsoe, who played with another athletic freak in Giannis Antetokounmpo for three seasons before getting traded to the Pelicans.
“I’ve played with one other player that has done that,” Bledsoe said in reference to Williamson’s efforts, per Christian Clark of NOLA.com. “That’s Giannis.”
In the past 9 games, Zion is averaging 25.9 ppg on 64.7% shooting. He's converting buckets at a 67% rate in the restricted area.
