DeMarcus Cousins’ Amazing Reaction To Lakers Planning To Present Him With Championship Ring When The Rockets Play At Staples Center
At the beginning of this season, only 72 days after winning the 2020 NBA Championship, the Los Angeles Lakers players were given their Championship rings.
The ring ceremony took place before the Lakers’ season opener against their city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers. During the ceremony, the players were surprised by family members who presented them their rings in videos that were shown on the Jumbotron.
One of the rings though, the Lakers held back for a great gesture – they’ll make sure that DeMarcus Cousins receives his championship ring when he they host his new team, the Houston Rockets at Staples Center.
While being part of he Lakers roster to start their championship season, he wasn’t able to play for the team due to tearing his ACL.
There haven’t been many players as unlucky as the four-time All-Star in these past few years. Cousins has suffered a torn quad, a torn achilies and a torn ACL, all within 20 months. These three injuries are considered among the worst in all of sports.
When asked about receiving a Championship Ring after all, Boogie even had something to say when he got to know about this.
“It’s dope man, it’s dope. It just shows my presence was appreciated in that locker room. I wish I was able to step on the floor and perform with the guys, but I did do my limited part. I am thankful for it.”
“It will be a dope moment. Obviously, it’s not the way that I wanted it. But I am still appreciative of it. I am thankful like I said.”
