Metta World Peace Explains Why It’s Almost Impossible To Guard Luka Doncic

Metta World Peace can look back to a great NBA career. All-Star Game appearances, a championship and 4 All-NBA Defensive teams.

As these four nominations suggest, Metta was one of the best wing defenders during his time in the league, and left his mark on all the teams he played for, not only in the NBA but also in Europe and China.

So when he was guest on the most recent episode of 1-ON-1 with Basketball Network, Metta also talked about Luka Doncic, while explaining why it is almost impossible to guard him.

“He’s definitely one of the smartest players that I’ve seen.”

“When I was thinking about how I would guard him when I was in my prime, I was thinking about it and it would have been really difficult, because of his release and his patience, and he got a big body, and he can score with not a lot of space.”
