Trevor Booker Reveals Crazy Story Of How He Was Tied Up & Beaten In His Hotel Room By Teammates Gilbert Arenas & Nick Young
Trevor Booker always was a good role player, throughout his NBA career.
After being drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 23rd pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Booker was traded to the Washington Wizards on draft night. He stayed in Washington for four years, making a name for himself with his old-school type play.
After his four year stint in the capital, Booker signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Utah Jazz before joining the Brooklyn Nets. Two years ago, after stints in Philadelphia and Indiana, he signed a contract in China, before retiring last year.
When Booker was guest on our Court Cases podcast, he spoke with our host, Len Werle, about his time in Washington. It was that Washington team that caused a lot of trouble, but also some great stories. Booker joined the team only months after the Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton gun incident. But even after that, the team wouldn’t stop acting unprofessionally, with some unbelievable stories, like Arenas pooping in Andray Blatche’s shoes.
Booker revealed how the Wizards squad was divided into different teams within the team, that constantly went to war against each other. He shared an unreal story about trashing Gilbert Arenas’ hotel room, which led to him getting tied up and beaten by Arenas and Nick Young in return.
It was definitely a fun time, but if you look back at it, it was very unprofessional. We’d do things like have teams within the team where certain players would be on one side, and the other players would be on the other side. We’d be on the road, we would go to the opposing players’ hotel rooms, knock on the door, find a way to get inside the room, tie the player up and beat him, and dump water on him…
It was probably about six of us… I remember one time, in L.A. I was on the opposite side of Gilbert Arenas and Nick Young. We found a way to get in Gilbert’s room, we flipped all of his furniture upside down, we trashed his room, and he was nowhere to be found. So I’m like ‘where is this dude?’We’re calling him on the phone and everything and he’s answering, but it’s like he doesn’t care. I got tired of waiting for him to come back , so I go back to my room, and I get in my room – it’s dark and I just go to lay on the bed and I just get bum rushed. Somehow, he got in my room, he went to the front desk and got a key, got in my room, and they tied me up and beat me… but it was pretty fun.“
