Chris Paul Speaks Out On Devin Booker’s All-Star Snub: “We Go As Booker Goes And We Know That”
After falling short of a playoff appearance last season, the Phoenix Suns have taken a big leap this season, getting off to a 20 wins and 10 losses start, that got them sitting as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
Devin Booker has been instrumental in leading the Suns to an impressive record. Over his past 26 games, Booker has been averaging 24.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game on an efficient 50.1% shooting. Chris Paul’s contributions to the club cannot be ignored as well. He’s putting up 16.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game on 48.5% shooting from the field this season.
It’s only right for the Suns to have one representative or two in the All-Star game, and everyone is aware that Suns’ go-to-guy Devin Booker has been playing like an All-Star all season long. To everyone’s surprise however, Booker failed to make the cut.
The news about the All-Star reserves was a bittersweet moment for Suns fans and Chris Paul himself. In an interview on ‘Inside the NBA on TNT’, the now-11th time All-Star revealed he believes Booker should’ve gotten in, consequently admitting that Booker leads the way for them.
“Probably the most bittersweet of them all cause Book is an all-star,” said Paul. “It’s not taking away from any of the guys that were named all-stars, but our team, the Phoenix Suns, we go as Booker goes and we know that and he knows that.”
