The NBA’s One Million Dollar Shot

February 11, 1995 – It was the first of two years in which the NBA hosted Footlocker and Reebok’s One Million Dollar Shot contest during All-Star weekend. A half court shot, where if made, a fan was able to win one million dollars came.

It was the half time break during the 1995 Rookie Game. The lucky contestant, Mike Hoban, who was practicing a lot for the shot, and even was allowed to have multiple training sessions with Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Dan Majerle, took the spotlight. He started with his routine and then finally took his one million dollar shot!
