Klay Thompson Reveals Losing Kobe And His Grandma Added To 2020 Being The ‘Worst Year’ Of His Life
After working his way back into form following the torn ACL he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, Klay Thompson received new devastating news when an injury he suffered this past offseason turned out to be an Achilles tear.
But Thompson, who will miss the entire season, is still with the team as often as his rehab allows him to, and he seems to be more than appreciated by every single one on the team.
Talking to the media before the Warriors’ game against Utah, Klay discussed many things such like the pandemic and Kobe Bryant, whose death added to 2020 being the worst year of his life.
“2020 was such a year of reckoning…
…Kobe going out, Gigi. And then on top of that in the fall, I tear my Achilles. It was probably the worst year of my life guys. Lost my grandmother…
…It was not easy on anybody. Everybody had their little trials and tribulations through 2020 but that was it for me. Losing my Grandma Mary, tearing my Achilles and I still think about Kobe every single day. There’s not a day I don’t think about him. And not being able to have that last convo with him. It was a tough year guys.”
