Doc Rivers Says Ben Simmons Is ‘A Lock’ For DPOY: “He Swallows Players”

Last month, Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons declared that he’s the best defender in the NBA. He definitely has a point by saying so, as the Sixers have a net rating of +7.8 when he’s on the court that drops to 1.4 when he sits.

Now, after another month of stellar All-Defense type of performances, Simmons’ coach Doc Rivers jumped in on the debate and explained why Ben Simmons is ‘a lock’ for the Defensive Player of the Year award:

“It’s everywhere. He literally at times swallows players and I’ve not seen that.”
