CJ McCollum’s Brother Erric, A Pro In Europe, Tried To Defend CJ’s Defense While Not Realizing That A Higher Defensive Rating Is Bad

This is pretty hilarious. I mean we’ve likely all embarrassed a family member or two in our lifetime, but this is too good not to share.

Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum has been receiving lots of criticism for his defense as of late, a little too much for the liking of his brother Erric, who also is a pro basketball player in Europe.

The problem is that while trying to defend his brother online, Erric kept referring to the NBA’s defensive rating thinking that a higher rating was better, while in reality it’s worse.

Portland’s team avg defensive rating is 116.1…. Team is better with him on court defensively. He’s an above avg defender on this team.
