Damian Lillard Makes An MVP Case For Himself: “People Are Just Not Being Defended The Way I Am”

There seems to a tight competition for the MVP award this season, but it appears to be already settled in Damian Lillard’s head. 

Lillard has been fantastic all year long, averaging 28.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game on 44% shooting from the field. The Portland Trail Blazers have also managed to win despite long absences from CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic, and that’s thanks in large part to Lillard’s MVP level of play.

Now appearing on ‘Jalen & Jacoby’, Lillard didn’t shy away from showing interest in winning the MVP award as he put up a compelling argument as to why he is a deserving MVP winner.

“They would see how I am being face-guarded full court and double-teamed on half court. Some games, I can’t even get shot attempts up. Oh yeah, we had 15 points or 14 points but I was 4 for 10 because I literally can’t find a look at the rim.

People are just not being defended the way I am. And I think I have a stronger case this year than I ever have. I think I am deserving of it. That’s just the truth,”
