Vince Carter Hails The Brooklyn Nets As The Team To Beat This Season
The Brooklyn Nets have entered the season with optimism that they could establish themselves as NBA champions. The Nets currently stand as the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 38-18 record, and are only one game behind the Philadelphia 76ers for the East’s first seed.
For a team with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden and Blake Griffin, their performance thus far hasn’t been very surprising. As their dominance continues, more people along the way are being convinced that the Nets may actually be the team to beat in the upcoming NBA playoffs.
One such person who has expressed this belief is former NBA star Vince Carter. Appearing on SportsCenter, Carter revealed that the Nets are his title favorites because of the talent they have within the team.
Per Forbes:
“Right now, they’re the team to beat,” Carter said on SportsCenter. “I’m still going to give it to the Nets right now just because of all the talent they have,” Carter said. “They have stars, they have MVPs, they have Kevin Durant, they have James Harden, they have Kyrie Irving.”
“Right now the Lakers are the defending champ and I want to see the Lakers healthy and how they jell when they get back together,” Vince Carter furthered. “And we can say the same for the Nets as well, but they just have a lot of weapons, but if the Lakers aren’t healthy, that’s a tough team to beat.”
