Rasheed Wallace Says Anthony Davis, Not LeBron James, Is The Pivotal Piece To Lakers Repeat
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to repeat as champions, but their road to a title repeat might have gotten a little harder this year. Because, aside from the lingering issues around the team, the Lakers are now seeing a tougher competition from that of last season.
The Utah Jazz and the Phoenix Suns are currently taking over the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers have found their much-needed floor general and have been taking care of business as of late, and the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers, who could potentially come out in the East, have gotten significantly better this season too.
As more teams stand in Lakers’ way, former NBA forward Rasheed Wallace named Anthony Davis as the pivotal piece for the Lakers’ championship aspirations this season.
“I think he’s [Anthony Davis] the pivotal piece for the Lakers. No disrespect to Bron and the other guys out there, but AD seems to me as that pivotal piece for the Lakers to repeat. Of course he has to stay healthy. It’s going to be hard. I’m not saying it’s a cakewalk for the Lakers even when AD comes back. Because as you said, you’ve got Phoenix, you’ve got Denver, you’ve got Utah, and you’ve got Portland. It’s definitely going to be a race.”
