NBA Hall Of Famer Earl Monroe Believes Julius Randle Belongs In The MVP Conversation
Julius Randle has made massive strides this season and is currently averaging career-highs in points (23.9), rebounds (10.5) and assists per game (6.1) through 59 games. Also thanks in large part to him, the New York Knicks are on pace to make the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
However, in spite of playing his best basketball of his career and putting the Knicks in the playoff picture, Randle often gets left out of MVP conversations which are bannered by the likes of Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry.
As the league nears the end of the regular season, it may be too late for Randle to make some noise for MVP. Even so, NBA Hall of Famer Earl Monroe suggested that the 26-years old Knicks star should be taken seriously for MVP candidate.
“Definitely in that conversation. The translation of Julius Randle and what he’s meant to this team, you’ve gotta take him serious for MVP.”
The #Knicks are currently on an eight game winning streak & in sole possession of the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference.
