Karl-Anthony Towns’ Emotional Mother’s Day Interview

This past year was nothing short of disastrous for Karl-Anthony Towns.

The All-Star has lost his mother and five other family members to Covid-19, and found himself testing positive for the virus. Additionally, Towns was hit by a drunk driver in Los Angeles during this past offseason, which even led to him being hospitalized.

Since it was Mother’s Day yesterday, it is more than understandable, that Towns was very emotional. Before the game, he shared an emotional moment with his father, who was present to support his son.

And after the game, in his post-game interview, the big man talked about how he felt playing on Mother’s Day.

“I’ve been emotional all day. I even told my dad it’s going to be very difficult to come out here.

My family, my memories, this team, they give me the strength to go out here and play the game, even through everything.”
