Isaiah Thomas Reveals The Boston Celtics Didn’t Disclose Long-Term Risk Of His Hip Injury

Isaiah Thomas was carving himself a spot as one of the best point guards in the NBA before an unfortunate hip injury, that incurred during his last season with the Celtics, altered the remaining years of his career.

In three seasons with the Celtics, Isaiah averaged 24.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game on 44.3% shooting, while garnering two All-Star selections and an All-NBA Second Team honor. He posted his best season in 2017, but nobody pictured that it would’ve been his last elite season, as well as his last season with the Celtics.

Now years after his run with the Celtics came to an end, Isaiah appeared onAll The Smokepodcast with hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. Discussing his past situation with the Celtics, Thomas revealed that the franchise didn’t disclose the real extent of his hip injury.

“The only thing that I think they handled wrong was not explaining to me what the extent of my injury could be if I do play,” Thomas said. “That was the biggest thing for me that I disliked. ‘Cause nobody gave me no insight, ‘OK, you do play, this can happen.'”
