Channing Frye Non-Jokingly Says That LeBron James Should Retire Following Lakers’ 1st Round Loss

LeBron James still is one of the highest profile athlete in the NBA right now, that’s why anything he says, or does, finds its way to the front of the headlines.

This was no different last night, when the Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 6 to the Phoenix Suns, leading to the elimination of the reigning champion. Some of the headlines were rather drastic.

Channing Frye, who was a former teammate of Lakers superstar LeBron James, for instance, came up with a bold statement on NBA Twitter Live. He thinks that LeBron James should retire… and he wasn’t joking.

“If LeBron is averaging less than 25 points a game… I think he should retire… Who are the Lakers bringing in or trading for that can put him over over the top? Have you seen the free agents? There’s nobody.”
