90s Stephen Curry, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf Offers His Help To Ben Simmons
Stephen Curry revolutionized the game of basketball and is easily one of the most influential players of all-time. So it should come as no surprise that a generation of players who display the same style of play as him will come to the league eventually.
To a degree however, the league is already seeing a few, and perhaps, may have already seen one 30 years ago. While this goes without saying that nobody tops Curry as a shooter, a player of the past generation that draws comparison to him is former Denver Nuggets guard Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.
Being one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, Abdul-Rauf now offered his help to Ben Simmons. The Sixers All-Star played some extremely underwhelming Eastern Conference Semifinals, and was visibly hesitant to shoot or score the basketball. Through the seven games, Simmons averaged 9.9 points, 8.6 assists and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 33% from the free throw line. He’s in desperate need of a shooting coach, so this could be a win win.
