Byron Scott Picks Yugoslavia As One Of The Top Contenders For A Medal In The Tokyo Olympics

In his 16-year long NBA coaching career, Byron Scott coached the New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers.

In 2017, Scott retired from coaching and if you take a look at the teams he’s got to coach over the course of his career, you recognize that Scott had the opportunity to coach plenty of NBA All Stars such as Kenyon Martin, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, David West, Kyrie Irving and Kobe Bryant.

But while he had a great career in the NBA, Scott seems to lack basic knowledge in world history, geography and international basketball.

When asked about Team USA’s biggest competitors for the Olympic gold medal this year, Scott named Yugoslavia, a country that disentigrated in 1992, Russia, who didn’t qualify for the Olympics, and China, who also won’t be playing in the Olympic Tournament.
