Devin Booker Says He Should Never Be Compared To Kobe Bryant

Devin Booker and Kobe Bryant had a great relationship. Bryant not only was Booker’s idol, he also became his mentor and friend over time.

Back in 2016, after Booker played Bryant for the last time, Kobe signed Devin’s shoes and added “be legendary” to the shoes.

After Kobe’s death last year, Booker got exactly that message tattooed to his forearm, in Kobe’s handwriting.

Then, with Booker taking the next step in his career, becoming a superstar in this league, and some Bryant similarities in his game, the Kobe Bryant comparisons started.

After his current impressive playoff run these comparisons got louder and louder. Booker though isn’t the biggest fan of them and said he should never be compared to Kobe:

“I just leave it at what he has done for me as a mentor, and the advice that he has left me. I try to take bits and pieces of his mentality and his approach, but I should never be compared to Kobe Bryant.”
