Draymond Green Is Reportedly Recruiting Other Team USA Players To Join The Golden State Warriors
Everybody projects the Golden State Warriors to set off as a legitimate playoff threat once Klay Thompson returns to the lineup. That’s definitely conceivable, but given the fact that other contenders have gotten better in the past two years, chances are a Klay Thompson return just might not be enough to propel the Warriors to another NBA title.
It’s no secret that the Warriors are eyeing another high-caliber player to join the squad even if it means shipping off their No. 7 and No. 14 picks in the upcoming NBA draft, as well as former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman. While no significant moves from the front office have been broadcasted just yet, Warriors big man Draymond Green has already started making some efforts behind the scene.
Draymond is currently playing for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, and according to Brian Windhorst in a latest episode of ‘The Hoop Collective’ podcast, the 31-year old three-time champion is ‘doing work’ with Team USA, hinting that Draymond has begun the recruitment process for Golden State.
“The draft is coming up and I don’t know if we’re gonna get any big trades ahead of it. We had a little Dame [Damian Lillard] stuff, there’s been people watching [Bradley] Beal — but I’m not feeling anything there. So I’m not sure we’re gonna get a star on the market… Well. The rumor out of Team USA is that Draymond is doing work. That’s all I’m gonna say. The team building going on — the team building is that Draymond is doing work.”
