NBA Brothers Franz And Moritz Wagner On If They’d Rather Play With, Or Against Each Other
When Franz Wagner will be selected in tomorrow’s NBA draft, likely between the 8th and 13th pick, Germany will have its first set of brothers playing in the league – given than Moritz Wagner finds a team for the new season, which appears to be very likely at this point.
Franz, the younger of the two, is projected to be the better, more talented player, and apparently he also hasn’t stopped growing yet. While being listed at 6’9″ during his time at the University of Michigan, Wagner revealed that he has grown to 6’11” ever since, in a pre-draft media conference I was part of.
During Media Day before last year’s All-Star weekend in Chicago, I asked Moe, who was part of the Rising Stars Game, if he’d rather play with or against Franz, once he comes into the league:
“That’s a great question. It’s always been my dream to kind of play with him at some point. Since he’s pretty good, I don’t really want to play against him. I played against him a lot so… probably rather with him, than against him.”

In the already mentioned pre-draft media conference from the other day, I asked Franz the exact same question. True to the motto ‘brothers’, he gave a similar answer to what his older brother told me last year.
“I would definitely rather play with him. I think he’s a pain in the ass… sorry about my [language]. Playing against him is not fun…”
