Lakers Officials Worried That LeBron James And Anthony Davis’ Window Is Shorter Than Expected
Since teaming up in 2020, LeBron James and Anthony Davis eventually formed arguably the most volatile one-two punch in the NBA. Although opinions and expectations about them were often mixed, the pairing managed to get past every roadblock and even went as far as bringing the NBA trophy back to Los Angeles.
The duo looked phenomenal in only their first season together and was anticipated to go deeper in their road for a title repeat in 2021. However, a series of injuries derailed their campaign up to the point where the Lakers suffered a disappointing defeat against the Phoenix Suns in only the first-round of the NBA playoffs.
LeBron and Davis have already made it public that they’re going to be ready for another run next season. Despite this, Lakers officials are still worried that their window might be even shorter than initially expected after seeing the two missed significant time due to injuries last season.
Per The Athletic:
“The injuries to James and Davis last season were an unwelcome reminder of that much, leading some Lakers officials to worry that this window might be even shorter than they’d originally hoped,” wrote Sam Amick of The Athletic. “As such, they’re in the process of turning over all the proverbial stones in search of the right piece(s) to return to the NBA’s mountaintop. Their time is now, in other words — again.”
