Jrue Holiday Says Kevin Durant Is Unstoppable And “Mentally Penetrating” Opponents
Down 0-2 in the NBA Finals, the Milwaukee Bucks suddenly picked up steam and battled back down to beat the Phoenix Suns in 6 games to win their first NBA championship in 50 years.
But the biggest task on their way to a championship came courtesy of the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Nets were one smaller shoe size away from advancing themselves. During the series and the entire playoffs, Kevin Durant was phenomenal for the Nets. KD raised the bar and even blew expectations following making a comeback from an Achilles injury that had him sidelined for a year. He showed off in the NBA playoffs with averages of 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game on 51.4% shooting, and appeared unstoppable.
Durant’s unstoppableness is also what Jrue Holiday now confirmed during his appearance on ‘the old man and the three podcast’. When talking about Durant’s Game 7 performance, Holiday revealed that Durant basically was mentally penetrating him.
“Mentally it was draining. Again, mentally its draining because I feel like you do everything you can to stop somebody and its not working. Kevin Durant is pretty much like, this is gonna sound weird, mentally penetrating you.”
